Honestly, I could read blogs all day. I think part of it has to do with my constant desire to learn how different people/cultures/generations live. Bloggers openly share their lives and preferences with the world, and I truly enjoy getting to know them through how they portray themselves, and of course, in relation to myself. There are so many good ones out there, but these are the blogs I check in on weekly.
Cupcakes and Cashmere: I think Cupcakes and Cashmere was the first blog I ever read. Emily’s been in the game a long time, and has built a wonderful brand and network between her blog, fashion line and store. I love how genuine Emily’s Instagram is, featuring her family and real photos (not always curated). She’s got great style, albeit different from mine, I really connect with her personal posts and dieting faux pas.
Carly the Prepster: Carly and I have very similar style. She’s definitely a tad preppier than I am – in a good way, of course! – but even lifestyle-wise, I think we’d be friends if we ever met. Since it seems as though we’re so similar, I enjoy Carly’s blog for fashion, travel and entertainment posts.
Gal Meets Glam: I think when I started to follow Julia on Instagram, it was one of the first times I realized how much of a reach influencers can have. I love her aesthetic – floral, flowy and feminine, but oftentimes her posts and life seem unrelateable because of the luxury of it all. Still, now that she’s moved to my favorite city (Charleston) and travels often, I do turn to her for recommendations if she’s been somewhere I’m going. Plus, her Instagram is beautiful.
Lemon Stripes: Julia is another one that I find truly relatable. While she’s got some beautiful designer items in her closet, for the most part, you can take advice from her without breaking the bank. She’s also very into health and wellness, and because of her professionalism in those categories, I trust her opinions and facts. Her little daughter is the cutest and even though I can’t relate to her mom posts, I’m always okay with pictures of an adorable baby!
The Stripe: Grace lives in New York City too, so it’s awesome to follow someone who shares your environment. As someone (me) who doesn’t go out much, it’s great to see a fellow young New Yorker nesting and being comfortable with homebody tendencies. She’s also a huge reader, and her latest obsession with Instagram stories is hysterical.
And some more that are great to follow on Instagram: Mackenzie Horan, Rosie Londoner, Allie Provost, Carly A Hill, Kelly in the City, and Amber Fillerup Clark (who I could watch do hair & makeup tutorials for 72 hours straight).
