You know how healthy people recommend a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar a day or something? Well, because of this bev from The Daily, I’m now totally on board with that ruling and I feel great. Let me explain.
So there’s this little place in Charleston called The Daily, owned by another Charleston favorite, Butcher & Bee. It’s one of those market-place coffee shop types, offering everything from food to bevs (alcoholic & non) all in a sort of Brooklyn-ish environment. I’ve heard such great things about The Daily as a coffee shop (they brew Stumptown, my fave), but once I read their menu my taste buds decided on something different.
The Daily has this drink, called the Cherub. It’s not caffeinated, but it totally helped me more than any amount of caffeine would at the moment. I loved it so much that when I got back to New York, I called and asked how to make it. Since I’ve been back, I’ve been making it well, daily, and enjoying it as a post-work, pre-dinner drink.
Here’s how you make it:
Take 2 oz. fire cider (apple cider vinegar) & honey mixed, and pour it over ice.
Fill the glass the rest of the way with water (I’ve been using Pellegrino to add a little sumthin’ sumthin’).
Top with fresh mint leaves, and enjoy!
Obviously The Daily makes this better than I do, but they introduced me to the concoction and now I have mad love for them because of that. Try it at home, or if you’re in Charleston, let them make it for you. The Daily is verrryyy much on the north end of King Street, but totally worth the walk.
