If I had to choose my favorite type of jewelry, it would hands-down be watches. I absolutely love a gorgeous watch, and constantly notice other people’s choices. When I don’t wear a watch – although I don’t often use mine for the time – I feel lost. They’re statement pieces, fashion pieces and overall practical, making them the perfect accessory.
These days, there are a ton of beautiful watches out there at varying price points. Because of this, it’s easy to build a collection and switch up your watch to match your wardrobe and your needs. If you’re interested in doing just that, here are the types of watches I recommend you looking into:
I think leather band watches are perfect for days off and the casual look. If you go with natural brown or black, they look great with jeans, chunky sweaters. Lighter colors, like my Kate Spade one pictured above, go great with warm-weather fashion. You can’t really see it, but on this particular watch, the number five is replaced with a martini glass – get it?!
Gold or Silver Band
This is what I wear to work every day. My silver watch is a little oversized but weighs absolutely nothing. My parents bought it for me a few years back, and I still receive compliment after compliment on it. I don’t wear it out socially, but it is definitely one of my favorite pieces in my jewelry box.
There is nothing like a big-faced watch. The faces make a statement on their own, and are great for a quick glance at the time (since you can actually read the numbers). I love these paired with dainty jewelry like thin chains and delicate rings. Often, if you buy a “mens” watch, you’ll achieve this look naturally…my mom wears my grandpa’s watch and it looks amazing. These fall under the more casual category, just like the leather band ones.
These make no sense to me, but I guess if you’re an athlete or someone who needs to be connected to their device 24/7, you do you!
Ahem. Rectangular is read as Tank Watch, you know? Jewelry is a category I typically spend under $100 a year in, seeing as I hardly wear any, so when the time is right, I will be purchasing the Tank Watch for myself. This is a goal and a dream, and will stand for an accomplishment or a milestone for me. The reason I love this watch so much is because when fitted properly, it doesn’t really look like a watch. It’s more of a beautiful bracelet that literally goes with everything, day and night. It’s perfect, simple and classic.
