old Trina Turk swimsuit
Well, it may not feel like it, but swimsuit season is upon us. I’m honestly not a huge swimsuit shopping fan…or owner for that matter. Even so, nothing is worse than realizing you need an extra suit or two for vacation just as stores are dwindling down their selections. I used to love Victoria’s Secret mix and match bikinis, but even if they were still being made, I kind of got sick of seeing everyone on the beach wearing the same ones. Those, and the ones from Target! Excellent price point, bought by all.
The past couple of years, I began adding one-piece suits to my collection. As of now, my beach bag contains a healthy mix: this Solid & Striped one-piece (purchased last year, mine is black), a Trina Turk bikini from years ago, a simple bikini (purchased last year top, bottom, mine is blue), this J. Crew Playa* one-piece and bikini (top, bottom) (both recent purchases) and this Vineyard Vines bikini (also new top, bottom).
If you’re the type that believes all-around comfort is top priority when at the pool/beach, I can be your inspiration. Solids and mute patterns that can mix and match are key. Also as much as I like light colors in the summer, be mindful that sunblock stains! That being said, here are some swim-related favorites all in one place.
*Playa swimsuits are all under $100. Note: these suits are not lined.
