Location: West Village
Calling all burger fans: this one’s for you! Exactly two months ago, the West Village became home to a small little restaurant, Pig Bleecker, and it’s not going anywhere. After seeing a mouth-watering picture on Eating NYC’s Instagram featuring what could literally be known as the Burger of Dreams, I decided I needed to go and try it for myself.
Located right on the corner of Bleecker and Thompson, this brightly lit, “smoked comfort food” classic place is equal parts friendly, delicious and Instagrammable (hey, it matters). I went with my also-burger-loving friend, and even after reading the whole menu – from which I’d eat and drink everything – we both decided to satisfy both our curiosity and craving for the burger. And all I have to say is…woah. The bun. The two thin patties with cheese, pickles and special sauce…along with shoe string frenchies…I can’t use words to do it justice. See for yourself:
Oh, and because we were there, we also tried the meatballs, which are literally Chef Matt Abdoo’s grandma’s recipe. Nobody makes a meatball like a grandma, and these were no exception.
Pig Bleecker’s adding New York’s favorite to their menu in the very near future: brunch. Can’t wait to see what that menu will be like, so let’s all stay tuned! Now please excuse me, I have left-overs to tend to.
